Ok, ok, im rubbish at blogging!

I cant believe the last time I wrote on here was back in January! Oh so much has happened since then! Work aside, we have a new addition to our family...Sparky the dog! He's adorable and is keeping us on our toes...he lives up to his name, he's so full of beans! We went to the rescue home and he caught my eye with his big beautiful eyes and skinny ribs, we just knew we had to take him home and feed him up. He's been with us for two months and is settling in nicely (although he doesn't like my workshop, but he will have to get used to it with me working from home!)

Ok, back to work.......various things have been bubbling for a while and im getting back into doing some art fairs and markets again. Im also a new member of the 'High Peak Artists' and Craftworkers' Association' and our work is situated at the heart of the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, Derbyshire. There are 36 local artists and craftspeople from the High Peak and our work includes paintings, ceramics, jewellery, photography, glass, turned wood, embroidery, calligraphy, lino cuts and etchings. Here is the link to the website http://www.galleryinthegardens.co.uk/index.htm Also, my website has been updated with the current list of the fairs I will be taking part in up to Christmas (ive mentioned the 'C' word already....sorry!) http://www.sarahmyattglass.co.uk/news6335.html

I promise to try and keep a more up to date blog....im just so rubbish!
Bye for now!

Rain, rain go away....and don't come back for a while!

It's hard not to get the January blues, especially when the rain won't stop pouring! Luckily, today is much better and we even have sunshine for a change! Just makes you feel so much better and have some get up and go!
Im busy preparing for BCTF and trying to get some plans in place so that its not a last minute rush! I've been to the printers today and sorted out all of my business cards, comp slips etc....so thats another weight off my mind.
Im in full swing with getting my stock levels up and my bigger kiln has definitely helped matters, it was worth saving up for!
It feels strange to not be taking part in any craft fairs, but also quite glad to get my weekends back for a while. Im always on the lookout for good fairs to do and something that is quite local. My first fair is in March...im sure it will be here in no time! I have updated my website today with all the fairs in taking part in (so far!)

Well, I best get back to it!

Bye for now x

It's been a while......

Hi there,

It's been a little while since I last wrote on here...okay, quite a long time in fact! Things have been very busy here in Myatt towers since the trade fair at Harrogate...it's been non-stop! I have finally bought a new bigger and better kiln which im in love with! I have been waiting to get one for a little while, but I bit the bullet and ordered one!
Lots of different fairs and projects have come and gone throughout the year...I just cant believe its nearly Christmas, its scary!
The other good bit of news is that a few months ago I was selected to supply regional National Trusts shops! So as you can imagine, ive been busy!!

I will try my best to keep up to date on here! But for now....speak soon!

British Craft Trade Fair

Hello everyone,
Im just about recovering from my time at Harrogate at BCTF.....had a fantastic time and met some great people from all over the country. I managed to get time to have a mooch around the fair and the work was exceptional, if items were available to purchase I would have spent a fortune! As it was my first trade fair event, I was extremely nervous but I received some good orders on the first day so I was chuffed to bits and started to relax. I definitely want to take part next year so I need to start saving some money now! I have put a photo on here to show you my stand (and home) for three days! (dont worry I didn't sleep under my table....I had a very comfy bed at the Premier Inn round the corner!!)

Button delivery

The best thing ever is when you get a donation of buttons! My mum scoured everywhere for the little gems over the weekend and my hubby's auntie has given me all her old buttons....and there's some absolute beauties! They have that funny old plastic smell though don't they? A bit of warm soapy water and they are like new, ready to be lovingly handmade into something gorgeous...Love it!

Had a funny old day really, I felt very positive yesterday that I had been very productive and got my teeth into a commission that i'm doing. Opened the kiln today to find that the two large pieces of glass were cracked and completely stressed out. Bad times. After a cuppa to calm me down, I gingerly had a look at the glass (with my safety specs on...could still hear it cracking!!) and I think that I have been sold some incompatible glass from the glaziers. This is the very first time in all my years of fusing glass has this happened! But nevermind, onwards and upwards....will try again tomorrow.
I'm busy on the look out for new fairs to take part in this year, I have booked my usual ones but I need to find a few different ones. I am swaying more to take part in outdoor markets as they have such a good atmosphere...the only downside is that they are usually attached to a Farmers market and I end up spending a fortune on yummy food!! To see the fairs im already booked for, take a look at my website www.sarahmyattglass.co.uk

Goodbye from chilly Leek Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Etsy Treasury Feature

Had a lovely surprise today as I have been featured in an Etsy Treasury! Big thank you to Sarah from sezknits who created it. There is some really lovely work from the Etsy Midlanders team and the theme for the treasury was 'blue'....very chuffed to see that my blue bubblicious glass pendant had been featured!
