It's been a while......

Hi there,

It's been a little while since I last wrote on here...okay, quite a long time in fact! Things have been very busy here in Myatt towers since the trade fair at Harrogate...it's been non-stop! I have finally bought a new bigger and better kiln which im in love with! I have been waiting to get one for a little while, but I bit the bullet and ordered one!
Lots of different fairs and projects have come and gone throughout the year...I just cant believe its nearly Christmas, its scary!
The other good bit of news is that a few months ago I was selected to supply regional National Trusts shops! So as you can imagine, ive been busy!!

I will try my best to keep up to date on here! But for now....speak soon!

British Craft Trade Fair

Hello everyone,
Im just about recovering from my time at Harrogate at BCTF.....had a fantastic time and met some great people from all over the country. I managed to get time to have a mooch around the fair and the work was exceptional, if items were available to purchase I would have spent a fortune! As it was my first trade fair event, I was extremely nervous but I received some good orders on the first day so I was chuffed to bits and started to relax. I definitely want to take part next year so I need to start saving some money now! I have put a photo on here to show you my stand (and home) for three days! (dont worry I didn't sleep under my table....I had a very comfy bed at the Premier Inn round the corner!!)

Button delivery

The best thing ever is when you get a donation of buttons! My mum scoured everywhere for the little gems over the weekend and my hubby's auntie has given me all her old buttons....and there's some absolute beauties! They have that funny old plastic smell though don't they? A bit of warm soapy water and they are like new, ready to be lovingly handmade into something gorgeous...Love it!

Had a funny old day really, I felt very positive yesterday that I had been very productive and got my teeth into a commission that i'm doing. Opened the kiln today to find that the two large pieces of glass were cracked and completely stressed out. Bad times. After a cuppa to calm me down, I gingerly had a look at the glass (with my safety specs on...could still hear it cracking!!) and I think that I have been sold some incompatible glass from the glaziers. This is the very first time in all my years of fusing glass has this happened! But nevermind, onwards and upwards....will try again tomorrow.
I'm busy on the look out for new fairs to take part in this year, I have booked my usual ones but I need to find a few different ones. I am swaying more to take part in outdoor markets as they have such a good atmosphere...the only downside is that they are usually attached to a Farmers market and I end up spending a fortune on yummy food!! To see the fairs im already booked for, take a look at my website www.sarahmyattglass.co.uk

Goodbye from chilly Leek Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Etsy Treasury Feature

Had a lovely surprise today as I have been featured in an Etsy Treasury! Big thank you to Sarah from sezknits who created it. There is some really lovely work from the Etsy Midlanders team and the theme for the treasury was 'blue'....very chuffed to see that my blue bubblicious glass pendant had been featured!

I have listed some new items on Etsy today too, my new years resolution is holding up so far! Here is a link to one of the items http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39263479 Valentines Day is just around the corner!

There is so much to learn on here!! I want to change my background and get rid of the regular template...but not sure how.....and to put links to my etsy/folksy/twitter etc......Help! Ahhh its a learning curve! I have taken some photos ready to go on here, but one step at a time!

See ya for now!
